At the Chatsworth Lake Manor location homestyle cooking is served. Lenny is not
afraid of the pepper in seasoning. I love it! If you like bold spice, rubs from scratch, smoked food, green peppers and jerk seasoning this is the place for you. I asked a couple of the locals what keep them coming back for more and they said the ribs and the gumbo. After tasting both, I can see why Cookin with Lenny claims to be "Slap your mama" good and it is "Slap your papa" good too. The creamy mac and cheese may be some of the very best mac that I have consumed at a restaurant. If I needed mac & cheese from a catering company this is where I would go. The tri-tip is incredible with prominent peppercorn, onion and green pepper flavors. The portion sizes are generous. Although, my friends were underwhelmed with the portion amount of quesadilla which the felt was a bit pricey but it did taste good.
Whether it is the Raspberry Chipotle Baby Back Ribs or the Smoked Whiskey Glazed Ribs, you can't go wrong. If one likes sweet and spice go for the Raspberry Chipotle. I favored this one. The flavors are unique and work well together. The Smoked Whiskey Glazed ribs are no slouch but rather a close competitor. My friend tried the pulled pork which he felt came across like a chopped barbecue instead. The waffle cut fries are a winning side order choice. They are seasoned well.

The happy ending was the innovative Boston Cream Cheese Cake. This new menu item is not guaranteed to be on the menu but it should be.
